Automatic map updates - is this available? Epix Pro Gen 2

Thanks in advance for any info. I have automatic software updates turned on, which seems to be working “normally” (I’ll get a notification every so often letting me know an update is available with the option to install), but, regarding maps I recently connected to Garmin Express and it turns out the maps on my watch are 2021.20, but 2024.20 is available (are the maps on my watch currently 3 years old?!?!), installed on my watch for NA golf is 7.30, but 7.60 is available. 

So, why have I not been notified about map updates available? Is it possible to receive those updates automatically, or at minimum a notification that updates are available? Or, is the only option checking Garmin Express periodically?

    Hello

    Unfortunately mapping requires a hi-speed Wi-Fi connection, or physical connection with Garmin Express. and they can take a long time to update. So unfortunately it is not something that can occur automatically. Mapping is not updated very frequently, so checking for mapping updates annually would be sufficient to keep these up to date.
