Garmin Run Coach does not sync with watch

Since I upgraded to 19.34, my watch does not have the same workout as my Garmin Run Coach anymore... Both show different training...

The only way to fix this is by rebooting the watch and syncing after that. And it needs to be done everyday since Garmin Run Coach is adaptive so training changes.

I saw multiple report of this issue in a few areas but is there a fix coming?

  • And today, no matter what reboot and sync I do, I am not able to make them sync together. This feature is completely broken... This make me wonder if my next watch will be a Garmin with the latest non stop bugs they have...

  • I have exactly the same problem. I have chosen the Garmin Run Coach Program program and while watching on my phone app and desktop app i 'm not able to see the scheduled program -> it is always 'Benchmark Run' . However, the watch seems to manage accurately the program and provide me adaptative exercise based on my level. 

    That is a pity the online experience is not able to reflect or sync with what the watch is showing.

    That would be appreciated if garmin can fix this problem, as it sounds wide spread. Thanks

    You have to do "Benchmark Run" after that you will start to see planned training for next week.
    Garmin need to have it to assess your initial runs.

  • That is not the problem … I did the benchmark run. I can see it as the first activity of the program followed by all the other activity my watch scheduled : base, threshold, long run …

    but still the app is not able to pickup and get agreement for what would be the next sessions , just been stuck on benchmark run 

  • Update January 7, 2025:

    We are currently reviewing this report and have a potential work-around to resolve this issue with the below steps, which will require access to a computer. 

    1. Plug device in to computer
    2. Access Internal Storage
    3. Open Garmin Folder
    4. Open Workouts
    5. Open Guided
    6. Delete adc_workouts, and adc_schedule.
    7. Unplug device and sync with Garmin Connect. 

    If there is no change, I would love to help investigate this further. For this, please feel free to reach out to me via Private message. 

  • I bought an Epix Gen 2 and went through setup today only to find this very issue.

    I do seem to have found a solution, though I have no idea which of the following steps sorted the issue, but this is what I did:

    1) Update watch software whilst connected to Desktop PC, then disconnect from PC

    2) Log on to Garmin Connect on Desktop PC.

    3) Select the Coach Plan under Training and Planning, click on the Workout Schedule, click on the arrow to cycle to the next week

    4) Add the Garmin Coach Glance to the watch

    FYI I am sat right next to my wifi (router), again I am not sure if that made any difference. However, I can now see all of the scheduled workouts/activities. The next scheduled activity is in two days, so I'll update here when I know for sure that that part of the process works.

  • This worked for me. I only had adc_schedule and deleted it.
