Auto Lock

  1. Dumb question coming up. I see the Epix 2 has an auto lock - I’m being driven daft my accidental screen touch and button presses when navigating. I can see how to turn the auto lock on, and various options, but how do I unlock everything once it’s on?? The manual is as good as useless on this feature.
  2. Have tried turn off the touch screen on maps, but gloves, or wrist seem to press buttons, which is real nuisance in bad visibility, not ideal when navigating.
  3. I don’t want to turn on auto lock without knowing how to turn it off!!

    You can do it via shortcuts, the same buttons switch on and switch off the screen touch.

    Auto Lock
    Automatically locks the touchscreen and buttons during or not during a timed activity. You set the Auto Lock settings in 'System' Settings. 

    I wanted to know that I could unlock the device before Iock it, the manual for teh epix 2 pro is very vague on this point, so here is how I have done it. Thanks to Gerd_NL fro pointing me in the right direction. First do this  Menu /^ System / Hot Keys/ START + DOWN Lock/Unlock Device.  Now I know what to press to lock and unlock the device, which also applies to autolock. Now I can turn on autolock knowing that ai can unlock the device. To enabe autolock Menu/System/Autolock (I use 'during activity' but there are other options).

    I decided that having a 2 button press to unlock the device was a better option than just 1 button. I saw another post asking if this was possible as the user found it too easy to unlock accidentally when using 1 button.

    Not a dumb question! To unlock, just press and hold the light button until it unlocks. It’s tricky at first, but it should solve the issue with accidental presses!

    just pressing whatever button few seconds and it will unlock
