18.16. navigation back to start in activity walk - Route calculation error. Missing routable roads in this area

Hello Garmin forum,

at software 18.16. me and my colleague (me epix 2 pro, he fenix 7 47mm) found mistake and dont know how to fix it.

When the navigation is set to navigate back - the garmin say: "Route calculation error. Missing routable roads in this area" immedietelly (if it says immedietelly often helps go next 10m and try it again) or when I leave counted track  and it starts recalculating the path.

Same it will do with navigating to POI and leave first counted track...

I tried reinstall all maps / update them.
I tried factory reset today, set all back. Problem still occurs. (wasted 45 minutes)

I am from Czech Republic, using TopoCzech V5, but problem persists without this maps too...
No other maps instead original are not installed.

This problem looks really hard for me - navigation in situation when I get lost without internet was the reason why i bought that expensive watches - now in critical situation the watches cant handle it. From few last updates, I am starting thinking if continue with garmin was great decision...

  • Hi, I am from Plzeň and also have this issue for about six month. Still the same. For me the route is calculated if I run the navigation when I do not move (prostě když stojím, tak se trasa vypočte, ale jakmile to dělám za chůze, tak to vždycky padne, že chyba výpočtu trasy). I sent some videos to Garmin to help to solve this issue, but still nothing.

  • Hello guys, I'm also from CZ and have the same problem on Epix 2 Pro (SW 19.41). Tried internal Topo maps from Garmin, also TopoCzech V5 and the result was always the same. It worked without an activity, but when the walking activity was on, then I got the error. I wonder if also Fenix 8 faces the same issue.
