Who wants to join in a thread about how happy we are with our Epix Pro/ Epix? So tell me what do you like most of your watch!

Just let us collect tge things we like most about our watches from garmin.

My favorite is battery life since it's better than every Android/iOs device.

What's yours? Just rant it out! Grin

  • This is a refreshing topic! While I understand this forum helps us work through issues with out equipment, lately there seems to be too much negativity and sour grapes.

I've had my watch since November and love almost everything about it. My highlights certainly include these features that I will attempt to put in order: Training Status (specifically load), Maps, offline music storage, sleep tracking (unpopular opinion but for me it seems very accurate), VO2 max, endurance score (love hate relationship), and the flashlight.

I can go on, of course, but I'll keep it short. Cheers!

  • Epic battery life, great GPS accuracy and solid build...

  • Very good points, I also appreciate all of those that you've mentioned.

  • It does everything active. The best running watch on the market bar none, a dizzying array of activities to track, and they include all the features of their best golf watches. And if I'm away for a weekend or going off the grid for a couple days I don't have any battery anxiety. Even at home, if I charge every once in a while for even a short time, it's topped up quite quickly. And Garmin does show a willingness to continue to fix bugs and add features to existing watches. I hope this keeps up for a bit, even with the Fenix 8 out there. That will definitely keep me in the ecosystem compared to its more fitness-focused competitors.

  • I love mine. I went from a Forerunner 405 to 410, to Fenix 3, then on to Fenix 6Xpro and finally the Epix Pro. I love the battery life and the amazing display. I admit I’d love the diving features of the Fenix 8, but since I dive only a few times a year and have a diving computer, I’ll hang on to my Epix for a while.

For what it’s worth I bought my Fenix 3 in 2015 so that’s 9 years with the Fenix/Epix series and I have no complaints. My watches have all worked flawlessly and they’re all still in service. One of my sons still uses the F3 while my daughter uses the F6X. Great watches from my perspective,

  • I upgraded from F6X to MK3i which is an Epix2 with dive computer (I assume). I love it. The display is great under water, outdoors and indoors. It accompanies me for any sport I do.

Battery life is great too. 5 days diving (3 hours per day) or hiking (6-10 hours per day) on one charge.

I love the integration with Komoot my favorite planning tool. For hiking I use their app which directly accesses my route collections etc.

I love the small things like flash light, timers, alarms (which don't wake your partner if you let it vibrate only), notifications, sunset/rise info, etc

  • My Garmin journey started with the Fenix 3HR in 2017, followed by Fenix 5X+, Fenix 6X Pro Solar and, for the past 16 months, Epix 2 Pro 51mm. Previously I used a Polar V800 for around three years.

The 6X was really good for me, despite Garmin's attempts to wreck it with dodgy firmware updates that broke as much as they fixed. Basically there was rarely a bug that caused me trouble, so, functionally, the watch was really good, serving me well for around four years. I still have it (and the others).

The Epix I like even more, primarily for the fantastic screen - a weak point on my previous watches. Also I have no argument about improved GPS performance, although my 6X did OK there too. I'm happy with the upgrade and the price I paid. My 6X experience has taught me not to touch the beta firmwares and I never have with the Epix. Pretty smooth sailing overall.

FWIW I always use a chest strap for any activity more strenuous than walking and, sometimes, even for walking. I use Stryd for distance/pace/power, so the most common complaints by others simply don't apply. No problem with battery life either.

Oh, and my primary activities are walk, hike, run, bike, plus a bit of yoga.

  • The flashlight (for the pro version) !   And no monthly subscription fee to view analytics
