At this time, there have been no announcements around releasing the User Interface to previous watch models. So it is likely this is not something that is going to occur.
It's quite simple... if garmin wont update at least the last gen hardware with new ui... well there are other companies with great functions and customer support and software updates for years ;p
And wasn't it the case in the past that at launch the epix pro 2 watch had a few features that were exclusive only to that model, and after six months Garmin released those extra features on older watches…
i agree ... changes to UI are not so hard to retrofit and epix 2 (pro) should get at least 1-2 major updates since they were not cheap.
Well,
mightbe I didn't describe all those things in detail and one could misunderstand them if you want to ignore the problems!
Everything I had or still have are bugs. I won't describe those things again for you in detail because you will anyway ignore them not important what I write.
For example the weather widget never showed up at all completly, some parts of the map were just missing. That was a bug. Solved, ok. But there's a lot more things not working and the decision if that's a problem or not should be left to each customer, right?
Are you just a troll?
In the beginning I had empathy for you, as I had some issues with my Epix (I’m going for the 3rd), but now I’m fed up…
I'm not a troll.
I just want garmin to fix those things. I wrote again to them since support didn't answer my last request and I'm waiting now since 28th of August. That's not helpful.
And then someone is explaining to me that my problems aren't severe.
Every user has its own use case and some issues which aren't severe for some people can destroy the usefulness of the whole watch for people with other use cases. That's my point.
Just an example:
If someone writes that the battery drain, lets assume a severe case with only 1 day battery life, is a severe issue for the way he or she uses the watch I can understand that.
I wouldn't write to that user: Oh that's your problem? I charge my watch every night, so why is this a problem for you? It's not a problem!
And again:
Different use cases have differences in the severity of software issues for the personal use case. Is that so hard to understand?
I'm not a troll.

If you want Garmin to address your specific problems in a timely manner, then you need to call them and work with a Garmin rep. You need to put in the time and effort.
Complaining to a group of anonymous fellow users on an internet forum will not fix your problems.

I've contacted support again via Email, I've added my phone number and asked for a callback.
Nothing happened, sorry.

And around and around we go...
Call Garmin Support and talk with a Garmin rep. This is the part of the solution you are responsible for.

And I'm still hoping they will do it. SW support is a mark of respect for their customer, and would keep their long term customer in futur products. This is what apple/samsung does now, and Garmin should get inspired...
Well, I’m invested since the first forerunners, Fénix 3 and all iterations, several Edge’s, radars, pedals, you name it. The more the merrier…
I had my set of HW problems, but Garmin support has always responded as (or more than) expected.
What can I say, let them continue to address bugs that will always exist in such complex mechanisms.

And Garmin continue to support watches for a long while after release. However, any person buying a watch expecting new features to be added is on a fools mission. Buy the watch with what it has then be pleased when new features are added. While Garmin has always added new features to released watches in the past it cannot be guaranteed that this will happen in the future and certainly not added ad infinitum on any watch.
