Training Status on Epix Pro ignores today's run despite everything else looking normal and despite new VO2Max reading

I did a rather intense uphil run today wearing (as always) my Epix Pro and an HRM Pro chest strap connected to the watch.

At the end of the run, results were as expected with my watch telling me I had overreached in the aerobic training (5.0 score) done nothing much for anaerobic training (0.4 score), producing an exercise load of 322 and VO2Max remaining stable at 53.

However, looking at the training status of my watch, the exercise load does not show up, training status is "recovery" and training load remains on the level it had been before the session. There is no VO2Max estimate available for today.

Looking in garmin connect, the exercise does show up with exercise load of 322, but it is not added to the overall training load and training status is "recovery".

After googling around I guess I just have to live with it and that it is some sort of issue with the interplay between watch and chest strap during today's session. Or is there any known way to force my watch (and/or Garmin Connect) to re-calculate training status based on recorded exercises available on the watch?

- I did try recording some additional "walk" exercises in order to make the watch re-calculate training load, but it still ignores todays run.

- VO2Max calculation is activated for trail run. I do these kinds of runs about once a week with the same set-up and never had any problems before.

- The exercise did reduce my body batery by 20 points on the watch and training readiness is low. It is just missing in the training status for whatever *** up reason.

- The V02MAX app outside of the training load app does state that it has recorded a valid 53 estimate today on the watch!

Pictures: On the Watch, training effect lines up with effect on body battery and vo2max app ("Heute" is German and means "today"), but activity is completely ignored by training status app.

In GC: Exercise Load is registered in Training Status app but Training Load is not affected.

  • For me this will update a day after sync to Connect. On the day of workout only the watch is up to date.

  • Did another training session today with the same technical setup and everything was working fine again. Guess I’ll just have to live with the fact that my acute training load will be off by 300 points the next week due to whatever technical glitch has been happening there. It’s a bit sad that these things just seem to happen with what seems to be garmin‘s legacy software issues.

But also interesting from a psychological pov that the missed recognition of a rather hard work out in my training load felt a bit as if I had not been working out at all yesterday Joy
