Can't download TOPO W Europe to Epix 2. PLEASE HELP!

I have been trying for days to download TOPO W Europe to my Epix 2. Have tried via Express and Map Manager on the watch. Won't work. The map shows in Map Manager, but claims Update Available (which won't go through over wifi). I know the map is not ACTUALLY there, because in Navigation I have a blank white screen (just long and lat black lines showing). I've reinstalled Garmin Express, uninstalled and reinstalled the TOPO W Europe map (which isn't really there) on my watch, etc etc. Have even updated the useless (for me) and unremovable Golfcourse maps - needless to say, these updated successfully. Any suggestions, please? I am beyond infuriated and am hiking in the Lakes tomorrow on a blank screen of navigational death. Utterly useless.

I had a similar issue a few month ago with a Canadian topo map. Problem then was: If you have multiple maps for the same area, Garmin assigns them priorities. Ideally, the most detailed map should have the highest priority. But they sometimes get it wrong…

I had to uninstall the North America overview map to make my more detailed Canadian map work. Do you have multiple European maps for the same region installed?

Thanks very much for the reply, Chris. Weirdly, after the umpteenth try (probably about 20th), I managed to download the W EU map last night; not through Garmin Express (will not work), but over wifi on my Epix 2. An hour later, maps started to appear in Activities. But still, "Map" was blank. Your message prompted me to try "Map" again, and now the white screen of death has gone, and I have a Map! So, some magic happened overnight, or you sent my watch positive vibes. So, thank you! I reckon Garmin has been reading the multitude of messages concerning similar problems and have probably pushed out a fix, which my watch has uploaded automatically - particularly considering the stages of improvement in functionality which have nothing to do with my actions.
