Maps accuracy during a activity is waaaay of.

When i´m in a activity and look at the map my gps tracking is way of, maybe by 100-200 meter. I have done two runs close to a lake. On both those times i were running on a big road. The map showed the gps tracke out in the water. Didnt even see the road. After when i look att my phone the garmin connect show me the exact location on the map. The gps tracking was then spot on my the meter.

How can that be?

  • Solved.

Deleted topo maps in /GARMIN folder. Then downloaded it again.

Now it seems to work just fine.

  • I have a three month old epix pro 51mm....the topoactive maps are now unusable as they won't zoom out past the midlands in the UK. It just shows a white background with lat and long lines. Zooming back in works but is extremely slow. When I first had the watch I could zoom out from the UK and in to where my house is in Spain almost immediately. Garmin have downloaded a temporary fix in beta but this didn't work. They won't replace the watch Because they say it's a software issue. I'm not interested what issue it is ...I have an 800 odd pound watch that is useless to me..... What happens next ? Has anyone got any experience of this? I've done everything reinstalled maps software etc no luck.

  • Welcome to my typical garmin experience. The hardware may be great but the software isn't and garmin and their support doesn't seem to be interested in all that software issues and how to solve them.

What I've learnt from this is only one thing: never ever buy again any device from garmin.

Even if it is advertised as the best sportswatch ever, no, I'll never spent any money for a device from this company.

Lesson learnt the hard way with a loss of 800 € for a Garmin Epix Pro gen 2, useless because of its software coming via firmware updates!

Good luck with yours. Hope people will think twice before buying a garmin device.
