Lock / Unlock buttons

I have recently experienced on a hike that was tracking an imported route, that I inadvertently changed mode but couldnt get back to my active app. I think I must have pressed one of the buttons with my wrist or cuff of my jacket.

Question: Is there a way of locking buttons during an activity on the Epix Gen 2. I have seen it on other older models using the top left button which showed a lock option. My Epix Gen 2 does not. I can't find any videos on this.

Thanks in advance.

    From the Controls Menu:

    Select Lock Device:

For any further info, you could always refer to the Owners Manual...

  • Personally I have set lock device to one of my hotkeys (the long press of the start button).

As long as you haven't saved/discarded your activity you should always be able to get back to it from anywhere in your watch by pressing the start button.

Hotkeys - menu - system - hotkeys (and then set one of them to lock device).

I prefer having it as a hotkey cause if you are doing what you are (I often do this for activities like surfing etc) you sometimes do want access to your buttons/screen and then this is a quick and easy way to unllock the device and then lock it again.

Main use is actually for threading my nylon hook & loop straps - that way I don't have to worry about accidently pressing screen or button while getting the strap through the pins.
