No turn-by-turn for third party routes

Hello. When I walk along a route on my Epix, I don't receive any turn-by-turn directions. This is the case with routes that I have synced from komoot. For a route that I created with Garmin Connect, I again receive turn-by-turn directions. Is there no other way or can it be changed?

I create all my routes in Strava and sync to Garmin. Turn by turn works fine with audio prompts

You need to sync with Connect. The turn by turn point are created by the Connect Server and not the watch. The watch does not really know the course. It’s just an overly on the map. It’s not using the map unless you set your watch to „Use map“ instead of „follow course“. If you set it to „use map“, it will calculate the route by itself using the built in maps. This will take some time, but you will get turn-by-turn instructions. (But also the route may be different as of the recalculation)

Using ‘Follow Course’ works perfectly. I have no idea what they’re on about, and suspect they do not either.

Because you sync to Garmin and then to the watch. Garmin server will create the turn by turn positions and will also sync it to your watch. If you import a GPX to the watch it will not do turn-.by-turn if you do not use the maps on the watch. The GPX with "follow course" will only be an overlay. The watch not knowing what path to use.

"Follow course" works for routes I created at Garmin Connect. But my synced komoot-routes only have turn-by-turn with "use map".

I don't import manualy, but sync via komoot. AgentMax answer was the solution for my problem!
