Had a weird one today, I was running sprints and at one point I rotated my (watch bearing) hand to my back to scratch an itch, and the hrm pro plus HR Strap apparently disconnected (talk about range huh?), because when I got my arm back into position, I received the message that the HR strap was connected. I thought nothing of it, but I noticed that on my subsequent (last) sprint, my hr wasn't getting back up where it was supposed to. I sprinted even harder (all out) and nothing.
I took a break and decided to do 2 extra sprints and it seems that the watch defaulted back to the wrist based OHR sensor, I'm guessing because of the recent HRM chest strap disconnection (even though it immediately reconnected when the watch was back 'in range'. I was never able to get back into normal HR ranges for my sprints no matter how hard I sprinted (and what RPE I had) prompting me to think that somehow it did actually stay locked on the OHR. I checked the Source Switching option and it was indeed off, so I'm wondering why did it not switch back to the HRM strap after it reconnected. I even lifted the strap from my chest for a few seconds and lo and behold, the watch still registered heartrate.
I paused the activity and readjusted the strap, to no avail.
Has anyone else experienced this?
