Since recently I get some sort of text advertisements for movie crap on my Garmin watch? I would say this is with the latest firmware. Never had this before. Anybody else noticed this?

Any "advertisement" on your watch comes from your phone, so the next time it shows up, look at your phone and find out what app shows them. Then either uninstall that app, prevent it from showing notifications…
