As already stated, it all depends what you're looking for. My Fenix 3 purchased in 2016 is still a fully functioning activity tracker.

Disclaimer: if this is your first Garmin device the user interface can be a little bit daunting. It takes some time to get used to it, but definitely worth the work.
With regards to software updates have a look at the Fenix6. Introduced 5 years ago. Still gets functional updates.
is that the 16Gb version? Still a great buy, just keep in mind that there is less space for maps. So if you are a global traveler, go for the 32Gb version. Else select parts of Europe if you also want to listen to music.
At that price, yes. Assuming you are looking for a good sports watch and take an interest in the metrics it offers. You won't get it at that price when the next version drops.

Can't disagree.
I'm at my 3rd year with the Epix 2 and still rocking nicely except for some issue with burn-in that started to be visible, in certain situations, few months ago(I'm using always-on display since the beginning).
Didn't contact Garmin yet but will do it soon.
