  • Hello

I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. Since installing the mapping seems to have caused the issue, have you since tried removing the mapping? If not, I would recommend trying this.

There are some other things to try is GPS connection is delayed or not connecting at all:

    • Be sure when testing the GPS, you are outdoors away from trees and buildings.
    • Sync the watch with Garmin Express.
    • Does the watch menu display the GPS software version? Menu, System, About, Scroll down. If GPS is showing as 0.00, you will need to reinstall this using Garmin Express.
      1. Connect the watch with Garmin Express
      2. Click Content and Tools
      3. Select the Utilities tab
      4. Select Additional Updates
      5. If GPS is available, select to Install this
      6. Disconnect the watch and allow update to complete
  • It seems that the watch has stopped using the satellite's preliminary position file.

  • Are you on a 17.xx version of the software - as there have been quite a few issues with activity profiles on this version, from duplicating them, to corrupting them to deleting them.

Check you activity profile - press start, select the activity profile (i.e. walking) - check top of the screen does it show the gps status bar. For my gps activities that status bar was missing. Net result was that during an actiivty I wasn't always getting a gps fix and post activity looking at my pace/speed graphs there were gaps where it was zero - same thing during an activity - at times my instant pace/speed was zero.

Note doing this step you lose all the customized screens you had set up - so first use your phone to take pictures of each screen - I just use the app - open connect on phone - press watch icon (right top) - select my watch (not sure if you have to do this step if you don't have multiple devices - activities & apps - select activity (i.e. walking) - data screens. Take a screenshot of the page. Of you can of course look at the tracking screens on your watch - I just find it easier with it all laid out on one page, so easier to replicate.

Solution: menu - activities & apps - select the activity (i.e. walking) - activity settings. At bottom of the list: Restore Defaults.

Press start - select the activitiy your restored to default - confirm you have a gps status bar at the top of the screen.

Your GPS connection issues should be resolved - if not would raise a support ticket.

  • Спасибо, версия 17.20 но строка GPS у меня есть, но как я заметил до установки карт подключение к GPS было практически моментальное, а после установки карт часто долго не получается подключиться.

  • Thank you, version 17.20, but I have a GPS line, but as I noticed before installing the maps, the connection to GPS was almost instantaneous, and after installing the maps, it often does not work for a long time to connect.
