Always on display batter longevity

The most draining effect has usage of GPS. I have set AOD to ON and I use a watch face with a screensaver mode, display on is set to 8 sec., this can have also an effect in battery life.

The charging software on the watch limits the charging power and stops it nearly, if near to 100% charge:

My post in no way referred to the aspect of which is the largest consumer. The user was referring to the long-term durability of the battery. I replied to that.

The charging process is not stopped, but switches to trickle charge mode when 100% is reached. The battery is therefore actively kept at 100% by the charger until you remove it from the charger.
A long-lasting charge level of 100% over a period of hours is a stressful state for the chemistry. This should be avoided.

LiIon batteries have their so-called "sweet spot" - the area in which they experience the least stress - at around 50-60%.

Yes, you are right ...and as Garmin-Laurie said, remarkable decline may be after 3 years. The battery of my S60 goes down after 6 years with daily usage of 2,5h GPS and daily charging, sometimes some hours longer after 100% full due to forget it ... and sometimes it depends on the quality of the individual battery ...

you are welcome. As the previous speaker said. Just use the watch. My post was "very scientific". In purely mathematical terms, you can roughly triple the cycle life of the battery by sticking to these things. But that doesn't take into account the inevitable chemical degradation of the battery chemistry.

You are restricted if you strictly adhere to the 20-80 rule. And very few people will want to have their watch for 15 years or longer ;)

Ye but it's the science I wanted to know. I guess it could influence the longevity in the end and I think this watch could last a long time - it does all I need as far as I can imagine now. But indeed people should use the watch as they like.
