Should I, shouldn't I?

Just about to press 'buy' on a epix gen 2 and found all the one star reviews on the app store. Which led me to your forum. Should I be reconsidering a purchase? Gorgeous watch, yet so many unhappy app users. Garmin must respond no?

  • Get it, it’s awesome and looks great. I think/hope it will last a long time too.

  • If you don't experience HR issues, that is awesome for you. Probably you have a body construction (thin, transparent skin, strong blood vessels) that works well for you.

However, from OP's perspective, the chance, that OP will run into very serious problems with HR with the current firmware (btw this critical HR issue started a year ago, and it turned better or worse with new updates) is very high.

So yes, it is great that it is fine with you, but this won't help OP that much.

  • Thanks to you all for your input. Great responses on both sides makes me no nearer to a decision Joy. Maybe a better pair of running shoes for now. All the best everyone Heart️

  • This.  Also keep in mind so many of the negative reviews you originally posted about are from the crappy redesign of the Garmin mobile connect app, not the watch itself.   I'd also wait as the epix 3 would likely come out by the end of the summer.   More here:   www.dcrainmaker.com/.../garmin-fenix7-epix-release-history-explained.html

  • I got my epix pro Saphire (47mm) about 9 months ago and use it daily mainly for CrossFit, Weightlifting, outdoor running and cycling. It is great and has (positively) impacted my training.
I did have the malfunctioning Bluetooth issue with the initial purchase and got a replacement watch after one week which has been working great without any of the issues highlighted throughout this thread. I sometimes think I should have bought the Fenix because the way I use the watch (AOD activated, activities every day, music from the watch while running, external sensors) battery only lasts 4 days.

There is always room for improvement software wise but I believe that is true for any watch out there.
