DSW improvement

Hi,

I really like the Daily Suggested Workout feature, and I use it quite a lot.

Today, I had a series of sprints, and realized once more that one feature of DSW is really annoying. After the last sprint, the program directly moves to a 10min cooldown period. That's nice, but before that,I would prefer to have the 2min rest period (to catch my breath after going all out for 15s) that I had in the previous intervals.

If the intervals are really hard, I feel like I need a much gentler pace (or even a walk) before I want to go to the  cooldown run. This is what happens during all the DSW intervals, except the last one, where it directly goes to the final slow run phase.

What do you think ? Should this be changed to have the same rest phase as after the other intervals before the last one ?

  • it is perfectly fine to walk during the cooldown. there is no obligation to run.

  • This is true. I just don't like the watch beeping that I am too slow. I could also end the DSW after the last interval and do the cooldown on my own. There are options.

  • This question of whether sprint+rest repeats should end with a sprint or a rest phase has been discussed on these forums for years. It seems that there are people on both camps. Some don't want a rest just before cooldown, others do.

And some want a user-configurable option to select that, but considering the I-don't-even-want-to-know-how-many configuration options the watch has already (and all the bugs caused by the options interfering with each other), I personally don't think it's worth it.

But actually, even now you kind of have the option: If you use the DSW or an interval workout created in the watch, there is no last rest period. But if you create a workout with a repeated section in Garmin Connect, the last rest phase will be there. Stuck out tongue winking eye
