No Bluetooth or Wifi (16.22)

Epix Gen 2 Sapphire can't initialize bluuetooth to connect to any bluetooth device.

Similarly, no Wifi networks can be found.

Full factory resets, removing device from Garmin Connect & bluetooth devices on Android didn't help. Using Garmin Express on Windows doesn't offer any options, only confirming watch is on version 16.22

Did firmware update somehow break the anntenaes on the device?? Can't tell if the modules are working or not,

Just contact garmin support. They're pretty good and I think you'll find they'll offer you a replacement if you have this fault.

what is the version of the WiFi and WLT under Menu System --> About scroll until you see it

this should be 28.09 for WiFi and 3.1.6 for WLT

I don't see WiFi listed separately (or Bluetooth, although the Mac addresses are listed), but against 'Wireless' I have 0.00

WLT is 3.1.6

You can check these versions also in GC app under Devices - System - About ....

... but if you have removed your watch from GC devices you should have had Bluetooth connection, or?

This is the thing, I can't re-add the watch to the phone since Bluetooth never initialize, just times out with the message 'pairing failed'

Can connect to windows with the cable but the desktop app isn't the most useful, would like to rollback to a previous firmware or something, but the desktop app isn't the most useful

If you say you can connect to Windows, do you mean GC Windows or GE?

Hi, 0.00 indicate most of the time a hardware fault.

You can try to reinstall firmware following this procedure.

From Garmin-Laurie comment :

Go to your System > About menu
- press the top left Light Button 8 times
  - Go to the very bottom
    - select the option to reinstall the software.

If not working install another version to force WiFi/WLT upgrade, i will look at which version could be interesting for this purpose and share the links with you. Firstly i'm waiting for your feedback about the first procedure.

roolback to 15.77 is possible if reinstall is not working.

for Fenix 7X, the folder is like that (Beta 17.15 for me)

Official backdate procedure

To backdate to public software:

Copy both the gupdate.gsp and force.tmp files from this zip, and place this in the Primary\Garmin folder of your watch. (force.tmp is only an empty text file, only the name is important)
When you disconnect from the computer your watch will prompt you to install this version of software.

Note that this will reset all settings.

Unfortunately no joy using this method, wireless is still showing as 0.00

No joy with this method either, the downloads folder doesn't exist in the coreservice folder
