Elevation issue with multisport activity

I've recently done a multisport activity with latest firmware 16.22 and auto transition feature enabled.

Everything was ok except the elevation recorded that was 0 for all splits (swim, bike, run). Here below the elevation chart for the bike split.

After the activity, altimeter was stuck on the same altitude. I have rebooted the watch and now altimeter is working again.

Any guessing of what happened?

Looking at the elevation chart of the activity, I've noticed that elevation chart starts with the swim activity (below the chart after elevation correction made in Garmin Connect)

while another multisport actiity, registered on the same exact course one year ago but with a Fenix 6x Pro, doesn't show any elevation chart (see below)

Just had this happen to be at St. George 70.3

Bike did not log elevation. My run leg had elevation.

I had auto-transition enabled as well. Hope it gets fixed.

Avoid hope. Contact Garmin Support yourself if not already done.

I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. For elevation concerns, I would recommend trying the following:

Calibrate the altimeter often (at the beginning of the activity in particular)
Clean the altimeter sensor port. (Right side of the watch, between the buttons)
1. Submerge the watch in warm water for 10 minutes
2. Rinse the altimeter port under the faucet
3. Shake loose the excess water
4. Calibrate the altimeter again

In the former elevation was recorded ok, in the latter it was a flat line (like in all my triathlons with auto transition).

Of course it does not have ANYTHING to do with cleaning or calibration, the altimeter does work (and well) in every cycling ride or run…
I can also confirm that my flat elevation did occur when the auto transition was on. By the way, it is not working very this auto thing…most of the times I have to force the change…
