Can no longer download Podcasts with Spotify - tested on multiple users

[EDIT: Garmin fixed this within 24 hours. Re-install the Spotify App on your watch]

This has been tested with several users, all experiencing the same issue. Some Epix, some Fenix.

I select SPOTIFY > ADD MUSIC AND PODCASTS and the select PODCASTS

I can see the main thumbnail of the podcasts I am following. But when I click one one I just get the endless spinning graphic that makes it look like it is loading the episodes but never does.

I am able to update Playlists AND I am able to upload a playlist that contains a podcast. The podcast works. I just can not access the podcasts via the correct Podcast menu,.

I have uninstalled and re-installed both Garmin IQ Store and also the Spotify App. Watch has been turned off and on and also been factory reset.

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with this. We did have a couple brief reports of difficulty with Spotify podcasts. Spotify released an update to their app to resolve this roughly 1 month ago…

I already contacted Garmin Support and they took all of the info and things I had done to try and fix so far. It's basically the 16.22 update that did it to Fenix and Epix (maybe more, I don't know). Everyone has the same issue. A patch is required. Not sure how long that will take to come out.

create a separate playlist for each episode of the podcast you want to listen to and then download all the playlists.

Still have issues to sync my spotify podcasts to my fenix 6pro. I have many podcasts in my spotify that do not appear in my watch. Any suggestions please?

Tired of this Garmin/Spotify podcast issue. Frustrating! Done all I could to fix it. Anyone able to fix the download and update podcasts? Thanks

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with this. We did have a couple brief reports of difficulty with Spotify podcasts. Spotify released an update to their app to resolve this roughly 1 month ago. If you are still having this concern, I would first recommend trying a couple steps:

Ensure the phone OS is on the latest version
Ensure the Connect app is on the latest version
Uninstall the Spotify app, Powercycle the watch and phone, then reinstall Spotify and set it up again

There has been a concern effecting WiFi connection with the latest watch SW version 17.28. There was a fix for this released with the BETA software release 18.09. So if the podcast issue is related to a problem connecting the watch with WiFi, I would recommend installing this update.

This may not be a Garmin issue.
if you have done all the usual things like re-synced Spotify on your phone to make sure the podcasts are in there. The it could be because the Podcasts are not licensed for that kind of use. I have the same issue with some podcasts.

Yes I had this issue to the podcast I enjoy. To work around I created a playlist and then downloaded the podcast to the playlist in Spotify. I then sync the playlist to the Garmin Epic Pro 2 51mm and I can now listen to the podcast. The best thing is I can go for a walk and don't have to carry my phone.
