Don't do a factory reset yet. First, press the power button and hold it for around 30 seconds, until the screen goes completely dark for a prolonged period. That usually fixes it, so many of us do this…
Problem solved on my side, after implementing the 30 seconds power button reboot advised by Niterider4 (thanks!!). I've been monitoring for a few days now and the battery longevity is 100% back to normal…
Factory reset and restore backup.

Is this the way an extremely expensive device should work? Interesting!
Same problem. I’ve done a factory reset and restore. Averaging just under 1% per hour gone on my Epix Pro 47.
Hi all, same here since I updated my Epix 2 to firmware 16.22 - I'm experiencing approximately -20% per 24h with no GPS workout (no runs) when it would normally be -7/8% per day. As a result I am carrying the charging cable with me 24/7 to make sure I never drop below 30% and it can sustain a run outside. As a result I have been charging my Epix ever 2 to 3 days.
Stupid to say but happy to see that it's a general problem and not a flaking battery and am eagerly waiting for Garmin to correct this quickly in their next firmware update...
Hi everyone. Same problem here with an Epix 2 (non-pro) since update 16.22, the battery is plummeting between 15% and 20% per day!!!
Another problem with this update: the connection between the watch and the Basecamp software no longer works. It's annoying because it had already happened in the past and we had to wait for several updates for the bug to disappear...

Just trying this on mine.
It went from fully charged to 66% overnight.
This is random behaviour, sometimes it works as it should, sometimes I can go out for a ride with full battery and it’ll be 10% when I get back after 2 hours.
Hoping the power reboot does the trick.
I had this issue on Friday, on Epix (Gen 2) standard. The weird thing was that watch still reported 100% battery, from Thursday 8pm when I fully charged it, to Friday around 10am. So only 14 hours. But the HR sensor was not reading anything. So I restarted the watch. And watch battery updated to 51%. So drained 49% in 14 hours.
I also had this issue with fast battery drain multiple times on previous watch (Vivoactive 4). It occurred around 3 times in 6 months. So roughly once every couple months. Restart fixed the problem, until it occurs again randomly.
Mine is currently behaving after a soft reset. Will keep monitoring it. My wife’s watch never misses a beat. Zero issues. Smaller watch so not identical but same software etc so I’ve no idea what the deal with mine is.
Hope yours is sorted.
