Epix Pro: Confusing and missing data

I switched from a FR 245 to an epix gen 2 pro last week and i have noticed some weird and inconsistent data.

first of all: Pace and pace alerts

When running in a defined pace rance, my watch notifies my via audio prompt if i go to fast or too slow. i have noticed that the audio prompts and the pace shown on the watch itself sometimes differ by up to 45 seconds. for example: i hear a warning that my pace is 6:30 and therefore to high and i look an my watch and see a pace of 7:10. why?

second: Intensity minutes

my watch didnt register intensity minutes of two activities this week. they were easy runs and mostly in zone 2. the first run of 40 mins didnt give me any intensity minutes while the second run of 40 minutes gave me only 9 minutes.

a similar run i did last week, when wearing the fr 245 gave me 50 intensity minutes. Why is there a difference? i had about the same amount of time in zone 3 and zone 2 (i personalized my HR zones after doing a lactate threshold test with a sports doctor, so they are accurate)

- additional info: i always run with the HRM pro cheststrap

third: lower stress readings and fast charging body battery

i noticed that the epix watch reads lower stress readings and my body battery charges much faster overnight. the only difference in my lifestyle is the watch, i havent changed anything else.

does anyone have any idea why that happens?

  • 2 Intensity minutes - how are they set? auto or have you manually set zones. Without seeing the acitivties its reallly impossible to give any indication re intensity minutes. FR245 was it set up same way. Did the FR245 run include vigourous intensity minutes?

    3. Much more sensative HR sensor. Noticed a major difference going from elevate 3 to elevate 4 especially in regaards to HRV / Stress. As more sensative and better able to pick up stress free. Also FR245 and Epix  are running very different sleep algorithms and suspect this is also helping, especially with the recharge rate as suspect this whole area is also running latest algorithms from first beat whereas suspect the FR245 probably isn't.

  • Hi, thanks for taking time to answer.

regarding 3: that makes sense, might be the explanation. thank you.

regarding point 2: i set my HR zones manually. i did a lactate treshold with a doctor and we figured out my hr zones. i have them in my account since 6 month. i never had a problem not getting intensity minutes wearing the fr245. but with the epix i already "lost" minutes twice. since switching from the fr 245 to the epix, i havent changed anything.

here is more info on the activities. i think its best to list it like that, instead of adding print screens

Run 30. January with FR 245
    Total Time: 45 Mins
    Average HR: 133
    Time in Zone 1: 8:32
    Time in Zone 2: 24:08
    Time in Zone 3 11:45
    Time in Zone 4: 0:33
    Intensity Minutes: 4 Moderate + 40 Vigorous = 84 in Total

    Run15. February with EPIX Pro
    Total Time: 37 Mins
    Average HR: 132
    Time in Zone 1: 11:06
    Time in Zone 2: 14:29
    Time in Zone 3 3:53
    Time in Zone 4: 0:13
    Intensity Minutes: 7 Moderate + 1 Vigorous = 9 in Total
