Alternative hardware for sleep tracking

I do like the sleep tracking of my Epix Gen 2, especially in relation to my training readiness. However, it's a bit too bulky for me to wear comfortably at night, so is there some hardware that's smaller, that will track my sleep (and HR, HRV etc.), and sync to my Garmin account? Like a ring? Or biceps band? Or...?

  • Unfortunately not in Garmin’s armoury. I have the exact same problem. The only thing close I’ve found is a vivosmart but that doesn’t do HRV (yet) when it does I’ll get one. Someone on here suggested wearing the watch on your ankle! I tried but it’s not for me.
I put in the idea of a whoop type band with the top sensor as a sleep tracker to Garmin. Hopefully if a few people do similar, they might give it some thought.

  • Thank's for the reply! I have also though about a whoop type band for wearing at night, or it could potentially be in a smart ring. I'll put the suggestion in to Garmin too, so fingers crossed!

  • Have you tried a nylon strap? This sits more comfortable around the wrist and for me it makes a difference at night. Also a lot cheaper than Whoop.

  • Hi! Thank you for your suggestion! Yes, I have tried nylon straps, and I agree that they are more comfortable. However, I like to wear my Garmin in the shower (to time my cold showers...), and then I found the nylon band to stay wet for too long afterwards. That's why I went back to rubber.
