Always on display does not work.
AOD is set to "On" in "General Use" and "During Activity" in Settings.
Power saving mode and sleep mode are both set to "off" when I hold the top left button (following advice from other similar threads).
Screen goes black after timeout period during both, regardless. Particularly annoying during runs when I am trying to keep track of my pace and heart rate (wrist gesture works some of the time but not all of the time)
This behaviour seems to happen most of the time, but not all of the time - there have been a few occassions when the watch face did stay on during a run, but I am not clear whether I did anything differently to achieve that.
Any ideas what's going on?
I have tried turning the watch on and off, and also holding the top left button to reset it.
I also recently downloaded software 15.74, but that hasn't changed the behaviour. I should also add I've had the watch about a week and the behaviour seems prevalent from the start (which I ignored putting it down to user error/lack of familiarity with the device), rather than something new/different.
Thanks in advance
*** UPDATE *** Additional behaviour I have witnessed, following further investigation:
Do not disturb (DND) mode seems to impact whether AOD is functioning.
Observed behaviour:
AOD set to "On" in "General Use" and "During Activity" in Settings.
Power saving mode, sleep mode, DND set to "off". Battery remaining 5 days. AOD seems to be working correctly, screen dims but stays on.
Toggle DND to "on". Battery remaining increases to 12 days. Screen turns off after timeout period. Note - AOD is still set to "On", so not functioning correctly.
Toggle Sleep mode "on" then "off" (which also resets DND to "off" in the process). Battery remaining decreases back to 5 days. AOD seems to be working correctly again.
???
Any ideas??
