In update 15.74, it says "ability to display images within smart notifications" - what apps and images are supposed to display on the watch?

I have tried Messenger images sent to me, but they don't appear on the watch as images. Or have I misunderstood what kind of images that are supposed to be displayed?

Check you have the App selected in settings - Notifications - App notifications in Garmin Connect.

I also have Photos and Videos off in Phone permissions.

Yes, as above, tap on the screen and the image should appear. It does for me. Not sure if this is required or it would appear itself after a certain length of time but that's how WhatsApp works for me…

If you use an iPhone, it doesn’t work. It’s only supported by Android devices.

I use Android, still don't see the images sent to me.

WhatsApp will work. Facebook Messenger not .

It will show the preview that is also shown in the lock screen notification on your phone.

Also, I see images in text messages sent through Google Voice from an Android phone.

It doesn't work with email, but its working for a lot of other message and notification type of apps: texts, whatsapp, netflix etc are all working for me.

You need to allow preview images in your Android device notifications. For example, you need to allow the automatic pictures download when you receive a message in Whatsapp.

sometimes that occurs as not passed it through- though with latest official update its occuring a lot less.swipe left to right twice to back out, then pick up the notification again and see if it loads.
