How do I REMOVE this ECG and it's two step authorization ????

1.  The ECG is not really that good.

2. The two step authorization every time I log in is a TOTAL annoyance

  • It's clear now that it's FDA requirement. But will it be possible to disable 2FA, if I'll remove ECG App by resetting the watch? Not sure that it will be done/

  • Everytime you log in where? So I can understand what is the issue with 2 factor authentication?

This is BS, and a real inconvenience!

Why don't people have to go through all this crap with an apple watch, or a fitbit?

    GARMIN PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!

I would hate to have to back to using my apple watch, because the battery life sucks. Slight smile

  • So I ended up creating a new account and will try to export all my previous data and upload into the new account without the ECG. A total pain.

  • Hmm, why are these action? What is wrong, if you only remove ECG from your favorites? It does nothing with your watch.

And this 2FA ... I need it only sometimes on my pc to login into GC. If I do not use my pc I set it into sleep-mode, after a new start (wakeup) all is working as before and if I have sometimes to fill in the code  that does not make me angry.

And at least, you have gotten the info about 2FA and ECG, so it was your choice ...

  • here is the step that shows during setup of ECG. You have the option to click Skip. Doing that will still give you ECG on the watch, but test results are NOT stored in Garmin Connect.

  • I do not believe this is a true statement. Many other vendors (Apple, Fitbit) have practically identical ECG functionality without a 2FA requirement. I understand that Garmin has chosen to make 2FA a requirement of storing ECG data, but that is simply a Garmin choice and not a regulatory requirement.

  • but that is simply a Garmin choice and not a regulatory requirement.

I do not believe it was our choice. Due to having Garmin Connect and the ECG feature designated under medical device features - the ECG data now falls under medical guidelines and strict government policies. Garmin is a large multi-billion dollar per year corporation and we take your data and privacy very seriously. Also, giving up hundreds of millions dollars in fines if ECG data is not properly handled, is not of interest and we are a company with a strong positive reputation.

The #1 way we can protect you is with the 2-Factor Authentication since there are still people that think password is using the word "Password1" etc.

  • I still don't understand what the big deal is? What are the issues with 2 factor?

  • Same here (meaning that I saw the caution that 2FA was permanent and could not be removed later, so I clicked skip as well, and now have the ECG on my watch but not on my phone). I would love to have the ECG on my phone, but not at the expense of 2FA.
