Reset Default Settings Loop

My Epix Sapphire got stuck in a "reset default settings" loop yesterday and it is on its way to Garmin now. It is just over a year old, but I still was required to pay for postage to send back.

My second Garmin watch and my second watch that goes back to Garmin (the other one being a Fenix 6X Pro), thus a 100% failure rate. Loosing confidence in the brand. Many many features, but buggy sometimes and sometimes severe bugs.

I ended up contacting Garmin Support and they replaced, there was nothing they could do. If you're in Aus you could still be eligble under consumer law even if out of warranty as the product should last…

Thank you!! Garmin has been a huge help . Despite the various recommendations nothings seemed to work. I sent my watch to them and they sent me a refurbished one. Fingers crossed is last a while:)

Now have the same issue when trying to resolve the back button not working, did you ever get a resolution?

I too am just over the year mark and experiencing the Default setting loop despite soaking the watch as directed, doing hard reboots, letting the watch sit outside for satellite magic to no avail. Did either of you end up with a suitable resolution? This is insane for an $800 watch.

I had this issue with Quatix7 sapphire amoled. It seems to be caused by physical buttons not working/stuck.

I had to send the watch to Garmin USA and they replaced it for a recertified unit.

I am sorry to hear the watch is stuck on reset settings. If you have not already tried, I would recommend cleaning the buttons. For this, I recommend submerging the watch in warm water for 10 minutes. Then press the buttons repeatedly. Then see if you can reboot without the reset screen. If there is no change, I would recommend reaching out to your local Product Support.
