Wrist Gesture doens't work while running

Wrist Gesture has not been working during running since 13.22

My problem is simple. While I am running, it looks like Wrist Gesture isn't able to get the screen on but works well in general use

I already got a replacement for my problem but the replacement still has the same issue

Please don't tell me my arm Gesture isn't good for the function. I have alrady tested another Garmin on my wrist

Yeah. You are right, that is not right. Weird. I run with mine every other day and don't have that issue. So, must be something with your watch or some type of bug in the software?

Mine works most of the times, but instead of turning the watch towards my face (at an angle), I turn it until the watch faces the sky (and it reaches horizontal position, as if it was sitting on a table).

In your clip I see the same thing: when idle, it works when you bring it to horizontal position. When running (and it doesn't work) you turn it towards your face.

I agree it is not normal, I am only suggesting a workaround which works in my case at least.

Did you get issues resolved I got a same problem yesterday only had watch a few days software 15.77

wrist gesture during activity is different to wrist gesture during general operation.

During activity its much more defined and is more associated with bringing wrist up and towards the face. Why the difference - to reduce accidental triggering of the watch face - there are loads of sports including running where the general wrist gestures sensativity in terms of a slight wrist twist triggering the watch face, would mean that using the same wrist gesture during an activity would cause it to regularly triggger - hence the more defined gesture. Makes sense to me - and once you have got used to the action it works a treat.

Note that the timeout works differently too. In general as soon as timeout is done the screen goes dark. During an activity if wrist is still being held up in a viewing angle the screen will just dim (bit like when AOD on) and will only go dark when you drop wrist. Again makes sense as may be viewing map etc - and generally the dim AOD view is still just good enough.

I have my AOD off wrist gesture on for 8 seconds so basically what ur saying is I need to work on how i am moving my arm to my face ? Thanks for ur help I have only had watch a few days so getting use to it I had a forrunner 245 before so only had to use wrist gesture at nite when running

After software update, mine is working properly now. Same 15.77.

I am maybe doing it wrong only had watch a few days so getting used to it but yesterday on run it was behaving like the video you posted
