How to record a combo cardio & HIIT / Functional training in same session

Been through most of the forums with no avail.

In my gym we do a combo of cardio (row/run) and HIIT (dumbbells, functional like lunges, boxjumps, mountain climbers etc)

Its 2x 17 mins sessions with a lot of different pulse zones and reps.

How can I record this in a single session with at least heart rate and time?

Would be nice to have rep counts etc as well

  • if you do them one after another then you can do multiple sport profile (you can set them how u want). or you can set a short cut button/buttons to be able to change sport during already runing activity which then will give u option to start cardio workout and once u finish your cardio (rather than pressing stop and starting another activity) you switch sport to your hiit (never done one so not sure what options it got).

this you will then end as normal workout but - your garmin will still put them as 2 separate activities in app - but joined together.

  • You also can just start HIIT activity, use BACK button to change series and after in GC app select what exact you did in each series.

  • just please beware of that the sum of the Training Loads of 2 different activities will be more than if you do it in one sit, because the Load will grow much slowly as you progress in an exercise, gradually

2x17 mins exercise in Training Load will count much more than a 34 exercise recording in one

and because all subsequent metric (such as recovery time, training readiness and training recommendation) depends on the Training Load, you will have completely different values on these

  • Thx all.. will try a few different scenarios.

just odd there aren’t any obvious way of doing this  since Gardin have pretty detailed instructions for pretty much everything else.
