My two ideas to improve the EPIX 2 Pro

I just purchased a new Epix 2 Pro and really love it. Having a technical background (and a love for how things like this work) I have two suggestions that may help improve the life span of the AMOLED screen (and battery) on this watch.

The first thing is that I have concluded that the “safety programming” for the AMOLED screen (pixel shifting) is not active unless gesture is on (or a button press) is performed.  This is possibly problematic for users who use the AOD (Always On Display) and at the same time don’t enable gestures. (I.e., they spend most time indoors and can read the dimmer AOD on the watch face and don’t need to consume more power, or aggravation / distraction of the screen getting brighter with a gesture motion). As it stands now, the AOD display will not shift over time (tested in a 10-min timelapse) without the occurrence of a gesture (if enabled) or button press. I believe that the current programming will accelerate burn in at a faster rate (in this use case) and the pixel shift should occur every few min in to help mitigate that. This, to me, seems like a no brainer and an easy update with no downsides.

Assuming that change is made to a future update, I also think it would be great add the option to gesture for “bright conditions”. In other words, with AOD enabled, you could also use gesture, but it will remain off when inside and automatically become active when I go outside (taking advantage of the ambient light sensor). This would not only enhance the user experience, by eliminating the need to dedicate a "hot key" to jump to display settings and manually do this but would also save battery for most of the day when the brighter activation of the screen (through gesture) is simply not needed.  Think of it as a "smart" gesture mode.

Granted I am not an engineer, but I think the two things above would really be great and provide a more refined user experience now that a lot of us are adopting the new AMOLED versions ot the watches.

Thanks so much,
