A photo of the screen inconsistency I have on new Pro (solved, kinda)

* EDIT - I went back to Garmin store here in Maimi and they replaced the watch and the new one also does the same thing..  so I don't think this was defective and just wanted to be fair and update.  Can't be too picky I guess, lol.   I feel better now.

I was able to try and get a better photo of this.  It's hard with getting the exposure to match that of what you see in real life.  In person, it's a bit more obvious (especially in a dark room).  It seems that parts of the screen are brighter (or maybe a different color temperature) than others and gives an inconsistent appearance.

In the photo the side where it says steps is brighter vs. the top part of the screen.  It's either brighter, or the screen is not producing the same "white" color at the top.

I will be bringing the watch back to the Garmin store for an exchange (maybe I will look at the 965 at the same time and see if I feel anything towards that one).  But, I do love the AMOLED since switching from MIP,  tho I can see there can be some little issues.

  • Hi,

will it be same result, if you put the (brighter) steps to the (less brighter) top right position?

  • Yes, I thought of that as well.  I switched the data around and the same part of the screen remains brighter vs the top. :-(

I'm sure the guys at the Garmin store are going to think I am nuts, but.. hey, this was not just a few hundred bucks.  If its new, I want a consistent screen.  If I saw this after a year, I would think "all well, its starting to go".  But, not after a week.

  • I did it also and yes the steps on the left are brighter than on top right. For me it looks more like bold formatted on the left. If I choose a map, the background is white and it is constant white over the whole screen ...

  • THANK YOU!  This was helpful.   Funny enough, I just saw this reply as I got back to the car from the Garmin store.  LOL.  I showed them and they just exchanged it for another new one, and guess what...  :-)   Same thing.  So, I guess it's just the way it is.  I feel better that it was not defective.

But, now look at the issue I have with the replacement (just got home from 2hr drive to Garmin store).   Screw loose on new Epix Pro 2 - Epix (Gen 2) - Wearables - Garmin Forums
