I know the Epix Pro does not (yet?) have the updated golf course graphics like on the Approach S70, but does the Epix Pro have the enhanced plays like that takes into account wind speed, direction, air etc. along with slope?
thanks

After playing 1 round with the new beta firmware I am very happy to say that Garmin implemented the updated graphics of S70 to Epix. See below for the screen shots.
I do wish that the updated play like…
Nevermind - saw in another thread that it does not have this. Perhaps with a software update someday.
Wind will be recognized only with my iPhone and Golf app running. If it is used with ply likes and smart caddy, I don't know.
On my Golf course the wind mostly comes from front of back, not so much from the side ...
plays like is currently shown via symbols: https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-E5C62F3F-DCE3-4197-8CA5-E419B2A55D12/EN-US/GUID-4D16CAF9-F14F-44D0-8860-B5BEF6DB9F72.html
Epix/S62 etc:
This feature adjusts your flat yardage based on whether your target is uphill or downhill. It does all the calculating of where the arc of the shot (short or long) will hit, relative to flat yardage.
S70: has the enhanced playslike: The latest enhancements to PlaysLike Distance also factor in air pressure, temperature, and humidity — a combination known as air density, which greatly affects how far a ball will travel. When you’re golfing somewhere other than your home course, PlaysLike Distance will account for the difference in air density and virtual caddie will recommend the proper club.

on the link you can also see a picture of what it looks like on the S70 screen where slope factor, wind factor, weather factor.
Anybody checked if the new beta which includes a host of golf changes now matches the S70?
I did a quick perusal, the map looks a bit different (previously the graph showed only the fairway and green, now there's green sections around the fairway, but I do not see "trees and bushes" like the S70.
I do see the "play-like" feature, but it's not on the main screen. Previously, when I tap on the screen, the distance of front/mid/back on the left side would change and add a dot next to the distance to indicate play-like distance.
Now, when I click on the menu button, and choose "play-like", it shows the uphill/downhill (whether it's a plus or minus), wind, and weather effect). But this only shows after you select the "play-like" in the menu. When I look at the main screen and tap to see "play-like" it's the same as before and does not have the 3 new "play-like" sub-categories listed. This is a very preliminary testing as I only upgraded to the beta last night. I have not played a round on the golf course yet. I will be doing that tomorrow.
So far, there is no difference in change in battery usage, so that's a big plus for me. It did crash one time, but otherwise the beta software is behaving ok for me. The crash occurred during the main screen scrolling to the "glance".

I do wish that the updated play like would be cyclable in the main screen without having to hit the menu to get additional detail of the play like. If you tap on the main screen. You will only see the front/middle/back and play like front middle back. You have to click into menu and select play like to see the wind/slope/weather impact.
I really like the dispersion area showing up. I believe it is taking the dispersion I have it with the club
That looks pretty good. You are right though it does not have the trees and other little details. Hopefully those will come with another beta. Also agree that it would be nice to have the new plays like there when you tap which is how it works on the S70 rather than in the menu, but maybe that is just a placeholder for now to see if there are any issues. Hopefully they will move into the main screen via taps like on the S70.
Overall, great additions to this line of watches!
Yes that’s one of the reason that I have been a loyal Garmin user for the past several years. They are very good at providing updates to enhance the usability of the watch.
Atseng1, thanks for the pictures. Question does the Epix use the golf app during the round like the s62 does? Or does it just save the round info to the watch and then sync with Garmin connect at the end of the round?
To be honest, I have never tried that. I just did a test now, started a round of golf on my watch, and opened Garmin Golf. The app asked if I want to resume the round started on Epix after about 5 seconds. I normally use Golfshot on my phone to track the stats so I don't have experience using Garmin Golf except after the round is over and when I am editing the stats (which I typically prefer to log into Connec.garmin.com and do it on a web browser from a desktop).
