Which watch should I pick

Looking at the epix pro 2 sapphire edition. Just wondering what’s better all around that or the quatix 7 sapphire. I have a fishing boat in Florida but am also an athlete. Does the epix pro 2 get all the same the quatix can with maps and boating apps? Or is there another watch I should look at that can do everything.

Yes, the Epix pro is mostly better than the Quatix 7, in most regards. The quatix 7 is based on the older non-pro Epix, sharing the same previous-generation hardware. The differences aren't huge, but the epix pro does have the newest HR sensor.

Both watches can do boating activities just fine, but the Quatix does have some very specific boating features, namely some features that integrate or communicate with Garmin boating systems, which the Epix doesn't do. If you don't really have any Garmin boating systems on your vessel then that won't really matter.

I think the boating apps not included on the Epix can be added from Connect IQ.

They are both running the same software - no difference.

You just have to go into your activities & apps list and add the boating / sail race /anchor options etc from the available options you have - no need to download anything.

So no real difference now other than cosmetic. Of course pro has the new HR sensor - and new features - but new features are all coming in next software uupdate. But no difference other than cosmetic styling between epix sapphire and quantix.
