Always On while showing Maps on Bike Activity

I am using the Epix (Gen 2) and as a bike computer.
I have three screens: 1 for Map and 2 for Data Screens.
I've got power meter, heart rate, and Garmin Varia connected to it.

I'd like to have the Map always on so that when I am riding I can also see where I am going as I use turn by turn navigation.
As well as my data screens.

I have Always On turned on and have timeout as high as it can get at 15 seconds.

However, when I am biking and have it Map, the Map display will always go dim after a few seconds.

Is there any way to have the display always on the map?

Same as your problem, but they told me that due to pixel burn problems it turns off

I believe it goes dim, however because it so dim it looks like it turns off.

I just tried testing indoors and it goes dim.

If there is no way to keep the always on feature to maps, then that is a deal breaker and really the Epix 2 is not useable as a bike computer.

Just tested in direct sunlight and it does go dim however it is so dim it looks like it turns off.
In any case, unless there is a way to keep the display on at all times, it isn't useable.

I will say that if you near a turn or if the radar picks something up the display will turn on. However, there needs to be an event that triggers it.

thats weird btw cause before some months there was a member here that test it on his bike and the epix doesnt dim

Had the same issue and was forced to buy an Edge computer. Never had this issue with the MIPS display on Fenix but with Epix it unusable as is for following course with watch mounted on handlebars. I am curious to see how Garmin will respond now that the Forerunner 956 also has amoled. Perhaps with the influx of additional complaints they will do something. Otherwise the new generation of watches that use amoled will not be usable. They should provide a truly always on display only when the map page is selected. I can see the fields when its dim but the map I can't.

No, unfortunately this is by design. Really not usable on the handlebars, if you want to see something on the display. I always use my Edge on the handlebars, now.

And I think all Garmin wearable with amolded display are effected by this behavior.

I don't think it's by design, if it wasn't meant to be usable on the bars why do they sell a bike mount for this watch? it has navigation and there was no reason to believe it wouldnt be usable
