Epix 2 and AirPods Pro 2 second generation connectivity issues

Running version 11.28 and installed the script files from 10.24 can’t remember the exact update into the Garmin files folder and still have issues with dropping sound from song. If I pause the song then wait a sec or two then unpause it, it will resume playing. Unfortunately I have to do this for like every other song very annoying. Any suggestions to fix this issue. Thank you

  • Unfortunately you probably won’t like the fix but basically don’t use any of the AirPods (or Pros) or the Beats Fit Pros.  They all have issues.  The best headset I’ve found that has zero issue is the AfterShokz.  (I own the AirProd Pro 2 and the Beat Fit Pro and also owned the gen 1 and try them after every update and they always drop sound).

  • As the Watch has a very low transmission power, you will need to use headphones with larger antennas to improve the signal reception or Garmin to raise the power of the signal with the cost of battery life.

switch to apple watch, garmin is solving this proble

     for a year already

  • Thank you all for the quick update, when I use my Jaybird tarah pro I have no issues, so I will just continue to use those and use the AirPods for everything else. Too bad it’s taking such a long time for them to figure out a workout to fix the issues.

  • No issues for me with any AirPods. There were issues when AirPods 2 Pro came out but they got fixed.

  • I have also posted a few times about the Airpods Pro 2 and its connection issues... I have noticed that the connection is disturbed and "breaks" when there are a lot of people around me that have a phone. I guess all the other signals, Bluetooth, wifi, etc are disturbing the connection between Garmin Watch and the APpro2. If I'm running in a forest, when there is nobody around or there are no other signals, the connection for me works just fine. But I guess what is saying is true... the antennas are weak and not able to sustain the connection at all times. My old Airpod Pro (gen1) worked just fine!

  • I'm having the same problems, also using the AirPods Pro 2. I bought the Epix 2 Pro because of the battery life, advanced running experience, smaller size for my small wrists, and the music support. And I'm experiencing so many issues on various areas that I have never encountered using an Apple Watch. But the music issue is one of my biggest ones.

I'm constantly experiencing connection issues, sometimes every 5-10 seconds. Clicking the pause and resume button on the Airpods fixes the problem (until it happens again). This also leads to me not hearing the workout instructions.

  • I had similar problems with Air pods Pro 2. Ended up sending them back. The watch can be funny with different Bluetooth earphones. It works fine with my Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.
