Hi all. I'm not sure if it's worth the $50 to me, but I wanted to see if any of you have gotten this and could show an example of it running on your epix. Particularly a satellite view if you could post what it looks like on your watch. Thanks!

I'm guessing they look quite similar to the now (mysteriously ) discontinued BirdsEye Sat Imagery.

Wish I could but Garmin are only supplying it to their American customers, and I'm in the UK.

Like I said.
Yep, my 5x plus has extensive BirdsEye Satalite imagery for my area I can overlay maps on... my Fenix 7x doesn't have this extra mapping ability unless Garmin unlock outdoor maps + for the rest of the world, and and it's twice the cost of BirdsEye...
We can download a limited amount of satalite imagery from the IQ store for offline use..
Can confirm, I have used both Birdseye and now Maps+.
Maps+ satellite imagery looks the same as the (now defunct) birdseye imagery. So those Birdseye images in the DCRainmaker article would also accurately portray what you'd see with Maps+ satellite imagery.
The maps+ imagery might be more recently updated than birdseye, I'm not sure. But the quality is basically the same.
Garmin goes so far as to store Outdoor Maps+ downloaded satellite and USGS maps in a folder called BirdsEye on the watch. I'd wager it's pretty much the same. It downloads three different zoom levels and is limited to a relatively small area. Source seems to be Maxar Technologies, according to the file. Of course satellite maps look great on Epix. Is it worth $50/year? That's a harder question. I gave it a try for the first year and will decide later.
Other things you get with OM+ that I find useful:
I haven't found other layers that useful where I live. Specifically, parcel data is huge and for some reason doesn't display owner info on the watch so all you get are parcel boundaries. Public Lands is limited to federal public lands it seems. Other layers don't seem to make any difference at all, but maybe they will come handy at specific situations.
The huge limitation here is that it's US only for now. I really hope Garmin expands the coverage at least with Satellite maps and contours.
