v11.25/v11.28: Is battery drain back?

I apologize for addressing again this problem, but I may need some help: I'm in the beta program and I was on 11.25 beta until today when I decided to charge my watch and it updated to 11.25. I had a great long period before this and I was surprised at the very low drain on my battery (4-5% daily). Now, after the update via Garmin express, I noticed that the battery is running super fast! Approximately 1% per hour. I did, as I usually do lately, restart the watch after the update via a hard reset.

Any suggestion short of factory resetting?

PS: I should point out that, during installation, I had some problems. The watch would loose connection (using original cable) and it stopped at 83% for a long time. I interrupted the process and Garmin express reported that the update had been successful

No battery drain here. Charged few days ago and 81% left..

Oh, noooooooo! I hate it because you have to restart from scratch all the times and you always forget something! It takes a while to set it up just as you want it and then....well, as they say sh*t happens ;)

Probably something else going on here as 11.25b should be the same as the 11.25 version released to the public so no ‘second’ update should have occurred.

Well, I did the the factory reset, but it seems to happen anyway. Nothing else changed, of course: same watch face, same settings. I'll wait and see, but it is so annoying after so long with no issues whatsoever.

In my previous experience, beta versions get replaced by the official release and that is done via an update just like any other. But I could be mistaken

Pretty certain that's the case. Did you check that the 11.25b update had been installed? There is a post somewhere where someone thought it had but it had not so was still on 11.24. Hence when connected to GE that user got 11.25.

Yes. Positive. But, perhaps the update was only regarding maps. However, now the problem seems to have disappeared: the battery consumption is back to normal. Perhaps the reset did the magic. All's well.....

I have the same. I thought it was to the loss of connection with Garmin Connect (another issue with the update). I have recently updated to 11.28 and it looks worst, the battery last like 2-3 days instead of 12 days before. BTW, I do not understand why Garmin has not implemented a backup feature!!! so reset are painless. What do they wait for that?

Hello Migi31. As a matter of fact, my problem ended with 11.28: now my battery (all settings unchanged) is back to phenomenal: 16 days with 3 non-GPS 90-minute activities per week.

But I do second your motion for an easy and complete backup feature. I have lost all my hrv data and now I have to wait 3 weeks to get a new average reading. Factory resets suck big time!
