I just spotted a new metric in the Acute Load tab (GCM) called Chronic Load. There's not much info about it, but it looks like long term load. I don't know if it's related to the latest watch update (probably not).

yes its new and is off the app update: https://gadgetsandwearables.com/2023/02/09/garmin-chronic-load-metric/
(i have it and don't yet have the watch update)

I'm having a hard time to see this in my Garmin Connect for Android. It's not that it's not there, it's that it's very ... ephemeral.

"Firstbeat defines Chronic Training Load as a rolling average of acute training load over the last 28 days. They say it provides longer term information on an athlete’s training load over time, and is good indication of their fitness. Monitor this to see if you are trending up or down."
i.e. what we used to have before moving to acute load. I always like this as gave a really good overall impression of long term fitness trend - so am delighted to see it back, especially as you sort of lose this visibilty with how dynamic acute load is due to its short term nature.
Do you know if the chronic Training load is also available with the Fenix 7x?
It's only available in GC under Acute Load.
It appears to me that in many respects, it is just about publishing a hard number, rather than the less precise green band in the graph of "optimal" load. I'm not sure anything underlying has changed. Not complaining, more info is usually better than less info.

Apparently, as described in a link in the post below, this would help further reduce the risk of injury. Some good ideas for visualization in the same post from Ɛpsilon

I go to Training Status --> Load and if I then tap to switch from the Load Focus tab to the Acute Load tab, for just a split second I can see below that another bar with 2 tabs: Acute Load and Load Ratio. But it vanishes by the time the screen transition is complete.
The app is updated to the latest android version I see. Anyone incurred the problem ? I'm tempted to reset the Garmin Connect app data and see if it solves the problem but I'd rather avoid if anyone else has a better idea.
From the fact it's been just introduced on the FR 965, it's likely going to get backported to Fenix7/Epix2/Tactix/MARQ and current-gen Forerunners with the next quarter's firmware update
It's definitely going to be backported. Training Load Ratio/Running Dynamics via Wrist/Chronic load are going to in next quarterly update for Epix (and Fenix 7). DC rainmaker says so and he usually has good info.
Chronic Load is already here, it's the Load Ratio that's just a transient ghost in Garmin Connect Mobile
True, in GC. But it will come to the watch itself. And probably be more prominently displayed as is the case with 965.
