Is the weather data on Garmin watches completely useless? Or is there a bug with my watch?

I just bought an Epix watch and have noticed the weather data is never accurate. The current temperature and high/low temperature data fields are often in disagreement too, with the current temperature showing a value outside of the high/low temps indicated for that day. Is this feature an after thought Garmin hasn't implemented well, or is there something I may have missed?

Yes it's usless... Garmin uses airports for its location, while an openweather app uses the nearest weather station to you.. Also Garmin weather doesn't have a viewable location, just update time...and hi and low can't make sense, when the current temperature is higher than the high temp for the day.... and air quality remains blank for many people around the world,it just doesn't work.

You can use a third party app from the store and get weather location and update time, air quality ... Way more useful using openweather.

Seriously?! Who thought using weather data from airports was a good idea? They should be fired. The nearest airport to me isn't that close and is at 250ft above sea level, whereas I live at 800ft above sea level, and love hiking so am frequently even farther away at even higher altitudes. Consequently the temperature will never be accurate. Complete madness. Has the community requested Garmin change this?

Are you sure that only airports are used? Garmin states that the nearest official weather station is used for weather data. Most of those are, in fact, airports, but some are not. My data is usually accurate.

Same here, weather widget is useless. I hope they fix it soon.

No it’s always inconsistent. Today my phone says 55 degrees. Glance has 81 . That’s way off ..

I experience the same inaccuracy in temperature data. I wonder if the weather data source can be selected by the user in future updates.

Yes official weather stations are mostly airports unfortunately....

Obviously this doesn't work for alot of people.

Yes I like this one, 7 whole pages of information,, uses the nearest weather station and had upload time and location etc...

Ps it's free to use if you update weather once per hour...
