Epix automatically shifts to black screen although it's set to AOD/on...

Hi all - new issue on my side. My Gesture mode is set AOD/on but some triggers nonetheless automatically set my EPIX to black screen (after my 8 seconds), as if AOD was off. So far, I have noticed that the use the follwing "controls" somehow override and deactivate the System/Display/AOD/on: "Display: On/Off" (ie when I turn it back on to what should be AOD/on) and "Do Not Disturb: On/Off". The only trick that seems to correct this is a watch reboot.

In other words, these controls (but could be others) cannot be used without messing up the watch's AOD settings.

Has anyone encountered this issue?

sorry not quite sure I understand the issue - are you saying you have watch set to AOD on and it works fine until you go into the control wheel and select the display on setting i.e. icon is grey and looks…

Check if you are not stuck in "Sleep Mode ?" ?

Not in "sleep mode". Firmware is 10.46.

sorry not quite sure I understand the issue - are you saying you have watch set to AOD on and it works fine until you go into the control wheel and select the display on setting i.e. icon is grey and looks like a watch with a "/" through the screen? At which point you display turns off?

i.e. Turns off the screen for alerts, gestures, and Always On Display mode (Changing the Screen Settings).

If so then this control setting is working correctly - its supposed to be able to override the AOD on mode i.e. if in a movie theatre or somewhere where you need to hide you screen.

If this isn't what you mean apologies - as was struggling to understand what you are trying to explain.

Thanks Jaamgans - problem solved, in fact I can complete your feedback with my learning that the control "Do not disturb" (available on the control ring) overrides the AOD/on. In other words, if you set the "Do not disturb" control to "on", EPIX not only stops from displaying smart notifications (which was my purpose) but also goes automatically to sleep screen (ie black screen) after the 4/8/15 seconds of gesture activated brightness.

Takeaway: if you want to remove smart notifications but still keep AOD/on, you have to go to "Notifications & Alerts"/”Smart notifications” and turn those off.
