Skin irritation

I also have this problem with Garmin rubber bands on my Epix Gen2, S62 and Vivo watches. I noticed that this rashes happened when I put my arm on arm rest for an extended period of time. Like when I’m on the plane on in long meetings.

Try apply lotion, it helped me.

  • If you get skin irritation even with good hygiene, it's best to get yourself one of those cheap hook&loop nylon straps from Amazon or AliExpress.

  • I have similar problems with any watch and any type of band since I was a teenager. I tried leather, various metal bands, nylon, and silicone. For me personally, silicone seems to be the least irritant.

But, again, for me personally, it all comes down to cleaning the strap and the watch.

The amount of sweat and dust is a crucial factor. Now, in the winter, when I sweat less and exercise less, I can go a week without washing/cleaning the watch.

In the summer when I sweat much more, and more outdoor activities lead to more chances for dust to get between the band and my skin, I have to clean the watch almost daily.

What I do is take some rubbing alcohol on a makeup remover diskette and gently clean both the strap and the watch's back.

I tried with water and soap as well, but alcohol seems to be working better for me and probably it removes more germs. The effect is somewhat longer. This leads to longer periods of time between problems.

  • We are sorry to hear about the issue you are reporting. The skin irritation may be a result of build-up on the watch band and/or casing. You should discontinue wearing your watch until your skin has healed.
