Turn guidance on routes

When I’m navigating A to B with a MAP to a selected map point, POI or Saved Location within a "Cycling Activity", I get a full screen pop up and a beep before every turn - which is really nice (but which strangely does not appear if you configure it as an "Automobile Activity")  

I’d like to have this full screen popup when I’m Navigating a preplanned COURSE (from Garmin Connect or RWGPS). I configure my courses with course points/cue sheets and use the "Follow Course" mode and I DO get navigation but only as a small arrow indicator on the bottom of the map screen. Is it possible to have that extra Turn guidance popup (without having to specify Use Map) during a course ? My old Edge 800 has this feature which you can activate in the course settings under « Turn Guidance » and leave Recalculation Off.

    Garmin Support just called me on the phone to explaine this isn't possible, if you do what other posters have suggested, you'll also lose the alerts on the watch.

    Support says this related to the backend where garmin connect is using google maps, their solution was disable the bleutooth on my phone, and disconnect my earphones. This is not acceptable as a solution given the price we pay.

    I do not like the "full screen pop-up before each turn." It is really not useful; more so, it is irritating. Especially before every turn, when I cannot see the map. There are many mistakes; for example, the notification appears with information to turn right, but on the map, it looks like I should go straight ahead. I prefer a small icon that doesn't cover the whole map. Maybe some of you know how to keep the beeps (sound signals) but turn off the full screen notification before every turn?

    I would like to submit a suggestion regarding the software of the Garmin Epix 2 watch. Currently, there is no option to separately enable or disable full-screen navigation notifications and "beep" sound signals. I believe that introducing such a feature would greatly improve the user experience.

    Full-screen notifications can be more irritating than helpful, especially during intense workouts where every second counts. A small icon that doesn't cover the entire map would be much more practical. At the same time, having the option to keep or disable the sound signals independently would provide greater flexibility for users.

    Please consider adding the option to independently enable or disable full-screen navigation notifications and "beep" sound signals in future software updates. This would allow users to customize their experience according to their preferences and needs. what do you think?

    I suspect Jimmy will suggest you using the support function of the garmin main site to submit a feature request....

    Probably yes, but I found that they do nothing with my requests... based on my experience starting from November 2023 regarding what they have done with DSW. This is the reason why I started to write about my experience (and problems) on this forum.
