How to add a persistent 'note' screen in custom workout

Hello!

Does anyone know how can I add a persistent message step to a workout?

In Garmin own running workouts (as part of a Garmin training plan), during some workouts, there are notes that appear on the screen as workout steps e.g. explaining what the next step will be. And you need to press 'next' in order for the workout to progress to the next step. The step will not otherwise progress or time out and the note will not disappear from the screen until you press 'next'.

How do I create a step like this in custom workouts - under 'strength' or 'cardio'?

If there is no such ability to do it directly, any tips for a workaround? I currently manage by having a 'other' step which lists the exercise and is programmed 'until lap button press'. it works, ish, the problem is the name of the exercise disappears off the screen after a few secs as it defaults to timer screen. I want a persistent note

  • First off, kudos for diving into the nitty-gritty of customizing your workout – that's some serious dedication! As for adding a persistent note screen, it sounds like a pretty handy feature, especially if you want to keep important reminders or motivational quotes handy during your sweat sessions.

Now, onto your question about how to actually do it. Unfortunately, I don't have a step-by-step guide handy, but I did a bit of digging and found this cool website called https://notesonline.com/. They offer some neat tools for creating and managing notes online, which could potentially be integrated into your Garmin Epix 2 somehow. It might take some tinkering and creativity, but hey, isn't that part of the fun of tech stuff?

    • Unfortunately, I am disappointed with Garmin. There have been no improvements to workout customisation in several years and the recent fiasco with Garmin Connect is followed by more ignorance and silence. Sad.
