Garmin watch Android vs IOS

hey, i'm totally immersed in the apple ecosystem (laptops, phones, ipads etc…) including watch. Now the decision to change from many years of use from applewatch to epix2.  I will immediately point out that I don't care about smartwatch functions a lot, but should I consider replacing the phone with an android to make the epix work better?  again - I don't care about smartwatch functions, I know on android I can reply with preloaded messages….The question is to Apple IPhones users. Thank you

  • Totally immersed in the Apple ecosystem and have no issues using the watch with iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini. The only extra work entailed is when needing to access the files system on the watch. A 3rd party app such as Android File transfer, Commander One etc is needed to manipulate the files directly on the watch.

To answer the original question, not sure whether the watch will work any better with Android or iPhone. I can't see any real need to switch to an Android phone if you're happy with the iPhone. There are just some features that you might miss but not having ever had an Android phone I can't answer that. But happy enough with the iPhone and watch.
