When using a kettle bell the watch uncomfortably sits between the kettle bell and my wrist for certain exercises. Is it worthwhile to wear it on the inside of the wrist or just take it off for the session? Should Tai Chi be logged as yoga?

Take it off.
Should Tai Chi be logged as yoga?
Depends. Ask yourself these two questions:
1. Why do you want to log tai chi at all?
2. What do you want to do with the logged data?
I do Kettlebells too and have the same issue. I do both. I bought a fabric strap to wear on the inside of my wrist, but mostly I just take it off and have it nearby. In both cases I uses an external heart rate monitor.

Why not.
I do not log activities when I do not see any use for it.
I believe nylon biceps straps are also available.
