Is it possible to modify the recovery time?

Following the daily suggestion, I went for an easy 2:00 run last Sunday. I forgot my chest strap and eventually the watch started to read 90% of my max HR and it stayed like that for over 1 hour (I felt like I was at 70-75%). That affected the suggested recovery time (~70 hours, never happened before) and that has been affecting the suggested workouts the whole week. Is there any way to overwrite the recovery time?
