Garmin Epix 2 Display: white spots appear yellow

Hello community,

for a few days, my Garmin Epix 2 display can't show white. Instead of clearly white color it shows yellow.

I waited for the update to version 10.43 but it didn't fixed it.

Is it a setting or has anyone the same issue?

Best regards Christoph

  • Are you sure your data isn't set to light yellow instead of white. I ask because to me it looks white while its in the ambient mode (when not in use) - its only when you wake it up it shifts to yellow.

I assume based on what I am seeing that you are using AOD on with wrist gesture on to wake out of ambient mode. To save battery life in AOD on mode (AOD off the screen goes black in ambient mode i.e. when what isn't actively being used) when watch isn't being used the display will change and become more basic and often devs will change the design to make it more battery efficient i.e. use thinner lines, remove detail i.e. the numbers etc - and often they revert the watch face to plain black and white.

So I suspect that is what is happening and the reason when its woken up by your wrist gesture and turns data to yellow is cause the data is set at yellow.

If that isn't the case would change watch face to another and set data as white and see if the same thing occurs - if it does with multiple watch faaces would raise a support ticket with garmin - if just the one face and its a 3rd party (looks to be Garmin to me) would raise ticket with that Dev or Garmin if garmin watch face.

Thank you very much for your answer,

the reason is not the color of the datafields.

It also happens for example in the navigation-app or in the menu. Even the watchface doesn't matter.

    hi,

blue part of the display is missing ? 33% power saving mode ?

    happy & safe sporting

  • Then would suggest raising a support ticket as I would think there is something wrong.

You could of course try a restart and a factory restore just to make sure it isn't a software glitch, before raising a ticket.

    Thank you,

even all kinds of reset hadn't an effect.

I contacted the Garmin support and they also hadn't any solution. So I will send the watch to Garmin.

    Everybody a nice weekend.
