Jump Rope very inaccurate

Exactly, the dedicated app from the IQ store seems not working well. 

Thank you for your detailed manual Kikbotusky. Will try if I can use such created workout instead. First reaction is, that my intention is not a specific step in a workout - instead just making a lot of sets and repetitions of jumping rope until I am exhausted. I aim to improve specifically in jumping rope. 

Jump counts are horribly inaccurate, often don't count at all each time I've tried setting up workouts this way, both for cardio and/or strength exercises.
The ICQ activity alternative does work/count fairly well but is extremely rudimentary... 
Garmin has Pickleball... but no reliable skipping activity yet. It's rather bizarre.
