You can assign a hotkey or combination to the screen settings, then select “general usage” and then switch AOD on or off. There is no direct switch option using the hotkeys, but this works for me.
Thank you for this answer and proposed workaround. I was afraid, that there won't be any on/off, or on/restore/off/restore loop at the moment... maybe in future it will change :)
